Student Council 2007 - 2008 September 2007 This month in the student council went by very fast. We accomplished a lot during the two meetings we had in September (4th, 11th). In the first meeting we elected the new secretary for the council and prepared for grade-level representative elections. We also discussed our plans and duties for the year. We have a lot to do! During our second meeting we talked about what organizations we would like to support with our Pennies for Heaven Program this year and decided to choose a different organization each month.
We have also set the dates for the dress down days and the pep rallies this year. Our first Pep Rally and Spirit Dress Day are on Friday, September 28, 2007. We can all come to school in jeans wearing our blue and white t-shirts to show support for SMS teams. Wednesday, October 3, 2007, SMS will show Ms. Reilly additional support with a Buck-A-Jean Day; all proceeds will be sent directly to Ms. Reilly to help with medical expenses and other needs. Students may donate $1 or more to wear jeans and a red t-shirt to show support for Ms. Reilly and the fight against cancer! Submitted by Jimmy Buckley, Commissioner of Communication |
