Mrs. Skertchly's Biography
Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Teresa Skertchly. I’m very excited about this year and all the special activities and subjects we will be learning. This is my fifth year teaching Kindergarten at St. Monica, and my eleventh year of teaching. Before having this wonderful opportunity, I taught Spanish, Art, Pk-3 for 3 years and developmental kindergarten for 2 years.
I am originally from Mexico City and have lived in USA for 19 years. I am graduated of the Iberoamericana University, a Jesuit college in Mexico City, and completed my Early Childhood Education studies at Brookhaven College.
I love teaching children because I think they are our precious future, that’s why, even though I originally graduated with a degree in Graphic Arts, I quickly found my true calling and became a teacher. Being part of St. Monica faculty and having your children in my class has made one of my dearest dreams a reality. I am committed to help you in the great task of educating your children. I know you have high expectations, and so do I. I look forward to share with you the tremendous progress in all areas of your child’s integral formation: spiritual, academic and social. I consider your children, just as mine, a blessing from God and I thank you for sharing with me these precious years. I appreciate all your help and support. I look forward to a great school year with your children!
