A Letter From Mrs. Ritchey Welcome parents and students. Allow me to introduce myself. I teach 6th grade honors English and 8th grade religion. I am returning to St. Monica after leaving for several years to work at my home parish as a youth director and director of adult formation. God has blessed me with many wonderful professional opportunities but none I love more than teaching. I am thrilled to be back in the classroom. I am a native Texan with an undergraduate degree from UTD. In 2003, I completed my masters at SMU. Like all English teachers, I love to read. My husband, who teaches at the university level, shares my love of books but only non-fiction. When we are not debating genres, we are spending time with our children. Our oldest son is twenty-five and living independently. Yeah! Our daughter, Brittney, is a 2005 college graduate and has just started a masters program in speech pathology. Our youngest, Jeremy, is fifteen and attends Allen High School. Jeremy is our musician. I look forward to getting to know each of my students and their families this year. As a parent myself, I understand the importance of your child's education and the great responsibility that we as Catholic educators have to not only nurture minds but souls as well. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns. I am working on my assignment web page and hope to get it up and keep it current throughout the year. Watch the web for assignments and updates. I will do my best to keep you informed of our progress. |
