Math Websites for Additional Practice

Below I have listed a few web links to check out for additional help in math.  I focused mainly on links that offer help with multiplication facts, but you will quickly find that most of these websites cover a broad range of topics.  There are so many more websites out there it can certainly be overwhelming, but hopefully this list can serve as a good starting point to access some wonderful online resources.

If you have found any great links you would like me to add, please email me!

1. Sadlier-Oxford

 http://www.sadlier-oxford.com

This is a wonderful site for additional practice, created by the publisher of our current math textbook.  Follow the link above, select Math, go to Grade 4 and you will find all types of practice problems, games, enrichment, and more.

2.  Cool Math

Check out the “Timernator” for multiplication practice!!  There are also many other math games at www.coolmath.com.   This game will time multiplication facts.  You can also choose addition, subtraction and division.

3. A+Math

http://www.aplusmath.com/

This site has lots of great math games and activities, as well as flashcards and worksheets.  You must have Java to run some of the applications.

4. Elementary Sites

http://edweb.tusd.k12.az.us/ekowalcz/math/elementary_web_sites.htm

There are many different websites to explore here.  If you scroll down to multiplication you will find lots of great choices for multiplication fact practice.  “Multiplication.com” has many interactive games (some you have to buy).  “Multiplication Mystery” seemed fun, and I enjoyed the “Multiplication Times Tables and Grids” made by the BBC.

5. NCTM Illuminations

http://illuminations.nctm.org

The National Council for Teachers of Mathematics has created many games, lessons, and activities for a broad range of topics.  They also have web links for additional online resources that are very helpful.

6.  CD-ROM Games

I also have several math games on CD that students may check out of the classroom for the evening or weekend.   If you are interested, just let me know or have your child let me know!
