Miss Domingo's Biography

It's hard to believe this is my third year of teaching fourth grade at St. Monica!  I feel extremely blest and excited about the challenge of meeting the high educational standards of St. Monica again this year.  I hope to fulfill the two roles of a teacher, as one who imparts knowledge and as one who guides the application of knowledge.  Moreover, I hope to help each of my students grow in their love and knowledge of our wonderful Catholic faith.

I grew up in Midland, Texas, the city where my parents first met and still live. My loving and supportive family possesses great talents in the medical field: my father serves as the primary doctor for several cities in West Texas; my mother worked as a nurse before raising four children; my 2 brothers are medical students at UT Houston and Baylor; and my sister will be attending nursing school next year. As you can see, I chose to follow a different career path!

I myself am a graduate of the University of Dallas, a private, Roman Catholic, liberal arts university. Although I started out as a math major with my eye on medicine, I decided to pursue my interest in religion and graduated with a B.A. in theology after several theology classes and a semester spent at the University of Dallas’ Rome campus in Due Santi, Italy.  I have received my teacher certification for Texas and am qualified to teach a wide variety of subjects at various grade levels: elementary, middle, and high school math plus elementary and middle school generalist subjects. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, listening to music, reading (especially C.S. Lewis), playing the piano, watching movies, and traveling (I spent a recent summer backpacking around Spain for a few weeks and this past summer exploring Alaska).
