Practice your multiplication facts for 0-12 every day - Students are expected to know their multiplication facts by the time they begin 4th grade. This year, students will learn games which they can play at home such as using playing cards, dice and flash cards. Also, students will be practicing their multiplication facts in class with the Multiplication Music CD from Twin Sisters Productions (website: http://www.twinsisters.com/). I have also seen the CD and similar CDs available at Borders and other bookstores. We have also been using the FlashMasters in school which have been a big hit with the students! For information on purchasing your own FlashMaster, please visit their website: www.flashmaster.com You can also practice your math facts by visiting some of these math websites: http://www.sadlier-oxford.com - The Sadlier-Oxford site, the website for this year's math book has great activities where students can practice their basic facts, engage in enrichment activities, listen to tutorials, and many others. The student center for 4th grade follows our book so this is a great resource, especially before a test! http://edweb.tusd.k12.az.us/ekowalcz/math/elementary_web_sites.htm http://illuminations.nctm.org/ You can also visit the websites of other math textbook publishers for additional practice: http://www.harcourtschool.com/menus/math.html - The Harcourt site has lots of areas where students can practice facts, play games, solve brain teasers, etc. http://www.eduplace.com/kids/mhm/ - The Houghton Mifflin site has an area where students can take practice tests and learn how to be a better test taker.
