Mrs. Boeding

We are nearly finished with the school year.  We will be working in class until the last day of school; it is important that all students maintain their focus on classwork and homework until that time.  Please encourage your child to continue to do their best despite the many distractions that the end of the school year brings.  We have been working very hard all year to learn how to be more organized and self-responsible.  Miss Domingo and I will continue to work with the students on how to establish routines and study habits, as well as organizational skills.  This website is the central location for all things pertaining to the subjects I teach; spelling, vocabulary, reading, grammar, writing, handwriting and social studies.  I will include topics we are studying, homework, and test schedules, as well as general class and SMS information.  There are also links to websites for our Social Studies, Reading, and Vocabulary books. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please email or call me. I try to be as accessible as possible.

Saints of the Month for May - St. Joseph

Virtue of the Month - Responsibility

Weekly Events:.

  • 4th grade Mass - Our Mass day is Tuesday; parents, grandparents, etc. are welcome to join us anytime.  Students must be in the classroom by 7:45 on Mass days, dressed in complete, correct uniform.  Only SMS sweatshirts (navy) may be worn in church.
  • Uniforms - Ms. Patrick has asked all teachers to check student uniform compliance carefully.  We have noted many repeat uniform violations and would like to remind everyone that our uniform policy is a reflection of us as a school.  Please make sure your student is in complete, correct uniform each day; consult the handbook if you have questions, or you may ask me about the policy.
  • Responsibility - Our virtue of the month asks us to take control of our actions.  We are asked to think before we act, and to put others ahead of ourselves.  We are asked to remember what we should be doing, when we should be doing it, and how we should be doing it.

Parents, all library books are due at this time.  Please make sure all books are turned in and replacement costs for lost books are paid this week.  Report cards are held for overdue books and fines.  See the librarians for questions about overdue books and fines.

Accelerated Reader

All students are encouraged to read books and take the Accelerated Reader comprehension tests.  All the 2007-2008 Bluebonnet books have AR tests, and are worth at least 0.5 points. The last day for AR is Friday, May 16, before 10:00 am.

State Reports - We have finished all work on state reports.  I will have them graded by Monday, May 19th.
