Mrs. Ayer's Kindergarten

                                Welcome to Kinder!

August 27, 2007 - The children are settling into daily life in Mrs. Ayer's class.  They are learning their letter sounds and even learning to read new words!  Such wonderful children with so many specail qualities.  I am very proud to have every one of them.  We will have an outstanding year, no doubt!

September 25,2007 - Holy Cow!  Can you all believe that it is almost October?!  Well the children are now completely settled into their routine and have been busy soaking up a lot of knowledge.  We now know a variety of sight words, how to write beautiful letters, make patterns, spell short a words (-an and -at), retell exciting Bible stories such as David and Goliath,  and what the difference is between a cylinder and a cone!  (We know more than that, but we wouldn't want to brag.)  I cannot wait to see what they will know in May!

November 13, 2007 - Such amazing progress the kiddos are making!  We are approaching the half-year mark and the kids are steadily learning how to read, write, and spell so beautifully.  They each have much to be proud of and thankful for this holiday!  Happy Thanksgiving!

January 8, 2008 -  Happy New Year!  It is good to be back with the children.  They have grown an inch or two and seem to be very grown up.  What a sight to see!  They are anxious to learn harder material and I am ready to give it to them.  They will be ready for first grade in no time.  Also, a BIG thank you for your generous gifts.  It has been a pleasure teaching your little ones.  I wouldn't trade it for anything!  Thanks so much!

February 4, 2008 - The children  are getting to be so responsible with their I-POD shuffles.  The shuffles are proving to be very handy tools that aide in the accelerated progression of your child's learning.  I am so pleased with how the pilot program seems to be moving along.  Please let me know your observations as they will be helpful to the program's general assessment.

April 7,2008 - The children are busy learning all there is to know about Texas!  We have painted Bluebonnets, read Texas tales and poetry, made Salt Dough Maps of Texas, and written about cowboys.  The children are also getting excited about how nicely their pumpkin seeds are growing.  We have been growing our pumpkins for a week and observing the large sprouts already!

May 6, 2008 - We had a great turnout for Muffins with Moms today.  The children looked so proud to have their mother on their arm!  Get ready for our Field Trip to the zoo on Thursday.  Be sure to pack a sack lunch for your kiddo.  See you at the bus at 8:20!
