About Mrs. Ayer

For those of you who have not yet seen my Bearcat of the Week poster, let me fill you in! My name is Mrs. Stephanie Ayer.  You may have heard of my somewhat recent marriage 2 years ago.  If you have, then you also know that I used to be Miss Campbell.  I still confuse the kids with that one.

I am originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan and come from a family of four.  I have a lovely younger sister, Lisa, who is living in Chicago and studying to be a school counselor.  Following in her big sister's footsteps, perhaps?  My father heads a medical practice and works to hold back the gray hairs I have undoubtedly given him during my younger years (to no avail).  My mother works hard to keep my father in line.  Like father, like daughter you know.  I also have my wonderful husband, Michael, who enjoys my Kindergarten anecdotes...so many to tell, so little time!  We have no children quite yet, but we do have a golden retriever named Lucy, who acts like a child.   We only have ourselves to blame.

As for my education, I graduated from Saint Mary's College of Notre Dame, Indiana in the year 2000 with a degree in Modern Languages - French and Spanish.  When I moved to Dallas 5 1/2 years ago, I received my teaching certification with specialization in grade K-8 and started teaching fourth grade at another local catholic school.  I am now entering my sixth year of teaching, five of those are here in Kindergarten.  What a great opportunity it has been for me to be here at Saint Monica!  Believe me when I say, you have chosen  such a lovely place for your children to grow.  It has been so special to have the opportunity to develop lasting bonds with many of the students and the parents.  Perhaps, I will have the chance to watch your child (and you!) grow through the years as well.  Blessings to all and a happy new school year!

              Fondly,  Mrs. Ayer
