GENERAL MEETING
October 9, 2007 The St. Monica PTO Board meeting was called to order at 12:03 PM. An opening prayer was presented by Jennifer Bowring. President’s Report – Linda White Opening Video Autumnfest Push and Thank You Linda thanked everyone for their efforts to make Autumnfest a success. President’s Committee Reports - Spirit Store – Lisa Madden
Lisa Madden reported that sweatshirts are back in stock and available for Spirit Day. - Autumnfest – Kathy Dougherty & Lexi Luzarraga
Kathy noted that baskets are coming together and t-shirt sales are picking up, and asked that everyone get their orders for tickets and wristbands in as soon as possible. Volunteer lists will be assigned this week. Dollar raffle items can be donated up to the day of Autumnfest – see the web site for forms. A raffle will be held the day of Autumnfest for 4 floor seats to the Hannah Montana concert. Lexi reported that there are still many underwriting opportunities available, but the deadline for signage is Oct 15th. To date underwriting has raised $45,285. Class pumpkins will be distributed this week. 2 pumpkins per grade will be in the silent auction. The Autumnfest door prize was won by Catalina Vaughan.

The directory will be available this week. Formatting issues with the cell phone and email additions caused delays. - Grandparents Day – Angelique LoRocco
181 families have registered 270 set of grandparents on-line. Angelique requested that families use the on-line registration for invitations. - Volunteer of the Month – Jessica Gossage
Jessica announced that a record number of votes resulted in a tie for Derek Clark and Nancy Poinsatte. - Derek was recognized for his efforts organizing the first annual Bearcat 5k for the cross country team. Over 100 runners participated and raised over $1,000 for the team.
- Nancy Poinsatte was recognized for her work in obtaining a grant from the Kenedy Foundation for mobile computer labs.
- Enrichment – Elizabeth Vincent
Elizabeth distributed an enrichment calendar for October. She is planning some Native American activities for November and has had numerous parents interested in sharing their job experiences with students.
1st Vice President’s Report –Shannon DeMetrovich Shannon thanked all parents for their Autumnfest basket donations. Fall class parties for K through 5 will be held on October 31. Secretary’s Report – Sally Wengierski - Parish/Family Coordinator – Mary Sladek
Mary discussed the Saint of the month (St Vincent de Paul) and the virtue of the month (Compassion). Mary announced a new event – Blessing of the Animals with Fr. Doug, to be held on Thursday Oct 18th at 6:00 PM in front of McManus - Introduction of Speaker – Nina Salhab - “Raising Food-Smart Kids”
Closing – Linda White - Autumnfest basket wrap will take place on Friday, Oct 12th - Next General Meeting – November 13 at 7:00 PM, Downstairs Lounge The meeting was adjourned at 1:45 PM.
