March and April ‘08

 

Dear Parents,

We hope that everyone had a lovely Easter and Spring Break.  It was great to see all of the kiddos back on Tuesday, and we teachers have remarked at their maturity and how “Kindergarten ready” the children now seem.

Here are some upcoming events for the remainder of March and April:

NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY

On Friday, March 28, St. Monica School is hosting an academic competition (PSIA) for a number of private & parochial schools in the area. Therefore, there will no school on that day.

REPORT CARDS

Although report cards are being sent home today for Kindergarten-8th Grade, our DK report cards will be sent home next Thursday, April 3rd.  This will allow the teachers more time for assessments.

NO SCHOOL

On Friday, April 4th , St. Monica School (K-8th) has scheduled parent conferences, so we will have no school.  Although the Pre-School will not participate in conferences on that day, the teachers will be happy to schedule individual conferences for parents who have concerns.

 CLASS PICTURES

They were originally scheduled for Thursday and Friday, April 3 and 4, but the dates have been changed to Monday, April 7 (DK and 4’s) and Tuesday, April 8 (3’s). Uniforms will be worn for class pictures.

PHONICS

Our room mothers are looking for parents to help with Phonics groups, and the first time will be Tuesday after Mass from 9:00 – 9:30.  Please come to Mass with your class and stay and help with Phonics. Both activities are extremely rewarding.

 MASS

We always attend Mass on Tuesday mornings, and we always need parents to help teach the children proper church behaviors.
