September 21, 2007 Dear Parents, Another good week in DK is coming to a close, and all of us continue to remark how sweet, smart and well-behaved these children are. You parents deserve the credit for doing such a good job. On Wednesday our classes enjoyed Fire Safety Day with the visit of two huge fire trucks and crews from the Dallas Fire Department, after which, we moved into the cafeteria to meet “Sparky the Fire dog”. He was great! NEXT WEEK IN DK
Friday, September 28th is State of Texas Fair Day, and we will dismiss early at 12:00 noon with NO Stay-n-Play. All children should be picked up at noon with the exception of those who are in Mrs.Trotzuk’s Extended Day Program.
Sunday, September 30th is the Dads’ Club Spaghetti Dinner. Come to Mass and stay for lunch or dinner with great spaghetti and famous Lucido’s sausage. Of course, the football games and cheerleaders are always good fun to watch. Check the SMS website for more details.
We will continue our study of letter Aa words, with an emphasis on apples. We’ll read stories about apples and paint pictures of them. On Monday, please bring to school your favorite apple – red, yellow, green or mixed-- We’ll vote on favorites, graph our apples, count their seeds and even make applesauce if time permits.
Autumnfest is Saturday October 27th and soon our room mothers will be collecting items for our Autumnfest basket with the theme is “Pre-School Pastimes”. They will be accepting names of volunteers who would like to help with the Popcorn booth and Pony Rides. More details will be coming soon.
