The second week of DK has gone quite smoothly, and all the children seem to be    adjusting well.  Here are a few reminders for next week:

FIRE SAFETY
On Wednesday, Sept. 19, the Fire Truck and crew will be rolling into St. Monica, and afterwards our children will see a puppet show featuring “Sparky the Firedog”.

LETTER Aa
Bear Day was fun, and we’re finally finishing our study of bees, balloons, bananas, etc. and replacing it with  Aa words like apples and alligators.  We’ll read about the legendary Johnny Appleseed and learn how he traveled across the country spreading his apple seeds.  With the approach of Fall, we’ll be discussing weather changes. There will be lots more fun to come next week!

VOLUNTEERS
We love inviting you parents to help in the classroom for our upcoming events, and we would urge everyone to do the Safe Environment Training, so that you may fully participate.  Go to the St. Monica website www.stmonicaschool.org  and look for Safe Environment for all the details.

E-GROUPS
Hopefully most of you are reading this message on line, because you have signed up for “E-Groups”.  But if you haven’t, it’s very simple--- Just look for e-groups on the front page of the website, and sign up for as many St. Monica activities as you like.  It’s a great way to get involved!

Thanks for having such wonderful children and for all that you do for us.  Have a lovely weekend.
