The National Junior Honor Society is a service organization that works to meet the needs of those less fortunate in our community. The St. Monica chapter of the National Junior Honor Society is made up of students who exhibit the qualities of scholarship, leadership, citizenship, service and good character. Membership is by invitation only and is based on maintaining a 93 cumulative grade point average while in grades 6, 7 and 8. Students must have been enrolled at St. Monica at least one semester to be eligible. Membership is open to qualified seventh and eighth graders after the end of the first semester. To complete the application process a student must complete an activity form, write a letter of self recommendation, and provide a personal letter of recommendation from an adult. Students are selected for membership by a faculty committee based upon the above criteria. Invitations are then extended with an induction ceremony to take place after the end of the first semester of each school year.
