DRESS DOWN DAY ON WEDNESDAY

Our 'Souper Bowl of Caring" canned food drive was a huge success! Every grade collected at least 500 cans to earn a free dress day on Wednesday, February 10th.
 
Students may wear jeans, tennis shoes and tshirts

Our Library is OVERDUE for a renovation. We have the plans (click here), have some grants, and need additional funding so we can renovate this summer. 
  
A generous donor has pledged to match dollar for dollar donations given at Casino Night or online (click here to donate). 
 

FATHER MILLS SCHOLARSHIP 2010-2011 APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE 

The School Endowment Trust announces 2010-2011 Father Mills Scholarship information and applications are now online (click here). Approximately 15 scholarships of $2000 will be awarded to 4th - 8th grade students.  

BIRTHDAY BOOKS

Consider giving a book to the library in your child's name. It is a wonderful birthday present or gift for a special occasion.
 
All birthday books are announced on SMS Morning News and the recipients are the first to check out the book. The book plate lists your child's name, date and reason for the gift. Gift book orders are due February 26th

ADOPT A SOLDIER PROGRAM

Boy Scout Troop 412, Cub Scout Pack 712, and St. Monica 4-H Club will meet on Saturday, February 20thto prepare and mail care packages 6 soldiers.  to over 18 soldiers in the past 3 years. On Feb 20, 2010 we will be meeting again in the St. Monica Cafeteria from 1:00-2:30 p.m. to package and mail items to our 6 remaining soldiers.
 
If you have the name of a soldier you'd like us to include in this project, would like to help package a box and mail it (cost is $12.50), write a letter to include in a package, or would like to learn more please contact Carlos Olivo at 972-503-2257 or carloslindakay@mac.com, Scoutmaster for Troop 412.
